Having experimented with lot of products, here are the best ones.
So to start, the Effaclar series by La Roche Posay is great.
Many rave about the Effaclar Duo, but I am not a fan. It contains salicylic acid (which is good for acne-prone skin). But it isn’t oil free, which means breakouts! If you need an oil-free moisturiser, go with Anti-Blemish Solutions All-Over Clearing Treatment or Shiseido’s PURENESS Matifying Moisturizer Oil-free.
Of couse, if you have serious acne, just go see a doctor. They will probably try something topical (a cream) with benzoyl peroxide or a gentle antibiotic, or both, like Quinoderm. I had to go further and get topical retinoids in the form of Differin. Differin really made a difference. This is all highly individual, so chat to your doctor rather than try ever OTC treatment before you go to them anyway.
In terms of makeup, Lancome Teint Idole Ultra 24Hr SPF15 Foundation 30ml Wear & Comfort is the holy grail. It is oil-free. This means no breakouts. It can be a little dry to apply, but an oil-free moisturiser makes it all better. It is reasonably expensive at 38 euro.
If you are feeling lazy though, powder comes in very handy. Diorskin Forever Compact Teint Haute Perfection Tenue Fusionnelle SPF25 is divine. It is very expensive at 57 euro, but that’s the price of laziness. It provides great coverage. Just like Lancome’s Teint Idole, it will keep your face matte all day.
